Echium virescens Silver Pink - Pride of Madeira
From Tenerife in the Canary Islands comes this rare and unusual stunner of an Echium or Pride of Madeira.
With beautiful silver green foliage and large silver pink flower spikes that rocket to the heavens. This Echium species is far more frost hardy than the traditional Blue Pride of Madeira or Echium candicans that is more commonly grown. Making it a wonderful shrub for gardens that may get some harsh frosts. Drought tolerant, it loves a sunny position. And starts its flowering with us now in late winter, continuing through spring and into summer. It makes a bold statement in the garden reaching 1.5-2m high when in flower. Its flowers attract all sorts of pollinating insects. And are particularly loved by bees, butterflies and nectar birds. An excellent addition for pollinator or bird attracting gardens.
We have beautiful large plants available in 180mm pots. Just starting to form their first flower buds.
