Philadelphus mexicanus Mexican Mock Orange
Philadelphus mexicanus Mexican Mock Orange
Philadelphus mexicanus Mexican Mock Orange is a fantastic “Old World” shrub or small tree. It produces beautiful white strongly fragrant flowers which offset against beautiful green foliage. The sweetly fragrant flowers which smell a little like tuberose and orange blossom, are produced in profusion. Flowering from the end of winter, through spring into summer. And sometimes again in Autumn. The flowers are loved by birds, bees and butterflies alike. Tolerating frosts and our hot Sydney summers. This plant is tough. And once established survives drought as well. It is deciduous.which adds to its charm when it wakes in spring with a burst of foliage and flowers. It makes fantastic ornamental plant specimen in the garden. If pruned it can be kept 1-2m tall. Or if left it will grow into a small tree reaching 3m. It makes a fantastic fragrant hedge! Or can be grown as an espalier or in a pot. A real stunner and well worth growing.
We have beautiful specimens of this rare and unusual plant in 140mm and 200mm pots. Have you got space for one of these stunners?
